| It
is now the beginning of September. Hopefully the weather will
start to cool down. Only one month until the NHL is back.
So to pass the time, lets get football season started with
some NCAA and NFL predictions!

In the AFC, look the conference championship to come down
to Indianapolis and New England. Once again, the game will
be in Foxboro, but this time the Colts find a way to beat
Tom Brady and move on to the Super Bowl.
In
the NFC, Bret Favre--who found a way to sneak into the playoffs
and win a 3-way tiebreaker--stuns the heavily favored Carolina
Panthers and moves on to his last Super Bowl.
Peyton
vs Favre. In what turns out to be Bret Favre’s last
game, a hobbled Favre throws an interception with 12 seconds
left inside the red zone, lifting the Indianapolis Colts to
a 34-30 Super Bowl victory.
On to the collegiate ranks. I find it rather impossible that
USC will lose a game. As much as I don’t want to see
a three-peat, the combo of Matt Lienert and Reggie Bush will
be too much for anyone to stop. Look for LSU and the winner
of the Texas-Ohio St. game to give a fight against the Trojans
in the National Championship game.
Preseason Top 26:
1. USC
2. Texas
3. LSU
4. Ohio St.
5. Tennessee
6. Virginia Tech
7. Oklahoma
8. Michigan
9. Florida
10. Iowa
11. Miami
12. Georgia
13. Louisville
14. Purdue
15. Auburn
16. Florida St.
17. Boise St.
18. Texas A&M
19. Arizona St.
20. Texas Tech
21. California
22. Boston College
23. Fresno St.
24. Pittsburgh
25. Utah
26. Georgia Tech
Lastly,
we have one hell of a final month going on in Major League
Baseball thanks to the Wild Card races.
In
the AL, my ultimate scenario would be for the Yankees to catch
the Red Sox and for Cleveland to land the Wildcard. But, I
think that would require a complete meltdown by both the Sox
and the A’s. Here’s hoping the Bombers have what
it takes to find a way to the playoffs. If not, and what team
with Shawn Chacon as a #3 starter can, look for Oakland and
Cleveland to battle it out.
In
the NL, it is indeed a WILD card. Look for Florida to make
a strong run in the end and pulls this thing out to the dismay
of the Astros and Phillies.
Well, that’s it for now. Next month, you know what’s
coming. How long has it been? Well, you finally get to see
some NHL predictions! |
