Documentation
Ponderings by Donny Seven

File cabinets, one tall, one diminutive,
contain the most fragile infrastructurres of a life,
the legal document templates, the gasoline receipts,
the contracts that will never hold up in court.....

File cabinets, one gargantuan, one small,
hold things I will never understand or care about
like book after book of insurance-policy updates
and explanations of investment values.

And we each have our cabinets of paperwork,
hoping to capture our lives in documentation
when what we should do is burn the useless crap within them
and go out and find some real lives for ourselves.

Desk Chair
A Haiku by Dustin Grovemiller

Torn, threadbare cushion
Once-thick padding now flattened
Meet a gruesome end.
